Through the Giving Games, and with the help of incredible equestrian sport fans, the USET Foundation and US Equestrian raised more than $72,000 to support and sustain our athletes preparing for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, which have been postponed to the summer of 2021.

Held on the original 2020 Olympic Games dates on July 24 through August 9, the Giving Games brought US Equestrian together with 20 other National Governing Bodies (NGB) in a unique, cross-sport fundraising initiative. The money raised for USET Foundation, the philanthropic partner of US Equestrian, will support the needs of America’s international, high-performance horses and athletes.

The initial goal of $50,000 was far exceeded by the total of $72,480 raised, and all donors were eligible for the Giving Games “Medal of Giving” awards program, which recognized the top three cumulative donors based on donations received by August 9.

The gold “Medal of Giving” was presented to an anonymous donor in appreciation of their donation of $36,240.

The Ziegler Family Foundation won the silver “Medal of Giving” thanks to their donation of $10,000.

Karen Long Dwight earned the bronze “Medal of Giving” in recognition of her $5,100 donation.

“USET Foundation was pleased to be a part of the Giving Games and to join with other Olympic sports in helping all athletes on their path to Tokyo and the medal podium for the United States,” said USET Foundation Executive Director Bonnie Jenkins. “Any effort that shines a light on how hard our athletes work and supports their goals is important, and we were happy to be a part of this initiative. We look forward to continuing our campaign after the Giving Games to ensure that equestrian athletes are prepared for and successful at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. We know our United States Equestrian Teams will make us proud next year.”

USET Foundation and US Equestrian would like to thank the many generous donors who took part in the Giving Games and its “Medal of Giving” program to support equestrian athletes.

As the Giving Games concludes, the USET Foundation continues their mission to raise money for athletes in the “Raising the Bar” campaign, now extended into 2021 for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. You can make a donation at any time!
