Save This Summer Season With Competition Opportunities at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington

World Equestrian Center – Wilmington (WEC) is thrilled to debut exciting, affordable opportunities at its centrally located, premier facility. WEC will introduce a new Schooling Show Series this summer and will continue to offer the Young Horse Incentive at every show through Fall Classic #3.

With five weeks of horse show opportunities, exhibitors can compete in WEC – Wilmington’s state-of-the-art outdoor arenas at the Summer Schooling Show Series during the dates below.

2024 WEC – Wilmington Summer Schooling Show Series

  •     June 14-16
  •     June 28-30
  •     July 26-28
  •     August 23-25
  •     August 30-September 1

Classes will range from the walk-trot to the 1.20m jumpers with stalls priced at $70 and class entry fees at $25. Competitors are not required to have a USEF or USHJA membership to enter.

Featured classes will be offered, including three $500 Hunter Derbies and two $500 Gamblers Choices, with entry fees at $45. Hunter fences to be set in sections of 2”, 2’6”, and 2’9”-3”. Jumper fences to be set in two sections at .95m and 1.10m. Hunter Breeding classes recognized by the Kentucky Hunter Jumper Association (KHJA) will be available for yearlings to six-year-olds.

Young Horse Incentive Program
All five-, six-, and seven-year-olds are eligible to be nominated into WEC – Wilmington’s Young Horse Incentive Program for the remainder of the 2024 show season.

All nominated jumpers will be eligible for the $45,000 Young Jumper Championship. Jumpers will pay a one-time nomination fee to enter the program. Entry fees and jumper nomination fees will be FREE for every show through November 2024.

All nominated hunters will be eligible for the Young Hunter Championship to be split into three classes, the $5,000 WEC Five-Year-Old Hunter Championship, the $15,000 WEC Six-Year-Old Hunter Championship, and the $25,000 Seven-Year-Old Hunter Championship. Hunters will pay a one-time nomination fee to enter the program. Entry fees in the Young Hunter Division will be FREE for every show through November 2024.
