The 2016 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, taking place from November 4 through 13 in downtown Toronto, ON, has unveiled its official artwork featuring the work of acclaimed Toronto-based artist David Arrigo.

As the largest indoor fair in North America, The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair celebrates the migration of ‘country coming to the city’ through its annual souvenir poster.  This year’s creation, featuring paint on canvas by Arrigo, celebrates all facets of The Royal in a single work of art.

"It was an honour to be commissioned by The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair,” said Arrigo of working with The Royal for the first time.  “It gave me a chance to step out of my comfort zone which is more sports-oriented.  I challenged myself to come up with something different, both in content and design.  I hope the masses enjoy it as much as I did working on it."

Renowned for his paintings featuring major sports leagues, Arrigo recently created a piece celebrating the one-year countdown to the 2017 Invictus Games to be held in Toronto, ON, next year.  Founded by Great Britain’s Prince Harry, the Invictus Games are an international Paralympic-style multi-sport event in which wounded, injured, or sick armed services personnel and associated veterans take part in various sporting events.

Copies of the official Royal Agricultural Winter Fair souvenir poster will be available for purchase from the Royal Paddock throughout the ten-day event.  Rolled posters can be purchased for $15, while plaque-mounted versions are priced at $50.  Autograph signings with the artist will also take place during The Royal.
