Equis Boutique capped the fall season at Tryon International Equestrian Center by honoring Richie Moloney and Slieveanorra with the coveted “Best Presented Horse Award”. Moloney and his 13-year-old Irish-bred gelding (Voltaire x Creevagh Quaich), owned by Equinimity, LLC, impressed the Ground Jury at Tryon Fall 6 to top 68 horses that jogged at the FEI Horse Inspection.

Equis Boutique is a shopping experience for the discerning equestrian and offers the most convenient and luxurious choice for top equine brands to dress the horse and rider. Featured brands include Parlanti, Manfredi, Anna Scarpati, Kingsland Equestrian, Kentucky Horsewear, Dy’on, specialty imported bits, as well as Official FEI and Just World International merchandise. Continuing their dedication to excellence in all areas of horse sport, Equis Boutique has devoted their presence at North American horse shows to enhancing the importance and prestige of the FEI Horse Inspection.

Equis commended Moloney, who has had the ride on Slieveanorra since his nine-year-old year, for the overall turnout of both him and his horse. Moloney and Slieveanorra have had several FEI results over the last few years, including second in the $500,000 CSI 5* Finale Grand Prix at the Winter Equestrian Festival last year. Moloney has continued to point Slieveanorra toward select FEI competitions, but is just getting him back in the ring after some time off.

“He's a very careful horse, but is quite sensitive. He is getting a little older now, so we are saving him for certain shows after some time off,” said Moloney. “This award is such a good idea and a very good prize. It's a nice incentive to have these horses looking good for the jog.”

Moloney's groom Hector Taz has been Slieveanorra's caretaker since he joined the Equinimity string of horses, and prepared him for the weekend's horse inspection. “He's been with me for five years and did a wonderful job,” said Moloney of Taz.

Moloney, Slieveanorra and Taz were presented with a commemorative silver plate, as well as assorted products from Equis partner brands for the honor.

A testament to the many well turned out horses at the Tryon FEI Horse Inspection, the Ground Jury also selected a runner up. Holly Shepherd and Triomf, owned by Loretta Patterson, were honored with prizes from Equis Boutique as second best.

Equis Boutique is about to embark on its second year as a mobile, one-stop shopping opportunity for high-end international riding apparel. Founded by FEI judges and supporters of international horse sport Elena Couttenye and Cesar Hirsch, Equis Boutique added diversity to the American equestrian market and has presented the Equis Boutique “Best Presented Horse Award” at more than ten horse shows across the U.S. so far this year.

“Every time we present this award, we see the horses and riders looking better and better,” said Hirsch. “We are going to have a winner each week during the 12-week Winter Equestrian Festival this year and we can't wait to see how that elevates the competition. It's important for us to encourage the horse inspection to be a social event and recognize the riders, owners, but especially the grooms, for preparing their horses well.”

Equis Boutique made a successful debut season at WEF in Wellington, FL, and HITS Horse Shows in Ocala, FL, this winter, and has had a busy summer season at horse shows around the U.S. For a complete schedule of Equis Boutique locations, visit equisboutique.com/find-us.
