Prize List Now Available for 2022 Capital Challenge Horse Show

The prize list for the 2022 Capital Challenge Horse Show, to be held September 29-October 9, at Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD, is now available online at capitalchallenge.org.

Entries for the 29th annual show open on Wednesday, August 3, at 10 a.m. ET and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To submit entries or to learn more about the electronic entry process, please visit https://entries.showmanagementsystem.com.

The 11-day horse show kicks off on Thursday, September 29, with Equitation Weekend, presented by BIGEQ.COM. Equitation Weekend will continue through Sunday, October 2, and feature the EMO Insurance Agency/United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) 3'3" Jumping Seat Medal Final – East, the Palm Beach International Academy (PBIA) North American Junior Equitation Championships, the North American Adult Amateur Equitation Championships, and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) National Children’s Medal Finals.

Beginning on Monday, October 3, Capital Challenge will welcome the nation’s best hunter horses and riders for hunter division competition as well as the World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Hunter Challenges. Throughout the week, the show will offer WCHR Hunter Challenge classes for amateurs, adults, juniors, children, ponies, professionals, and developing professionals.

The $5,000 WCHR Developing Pro Challenge and the $25,000 WCHR Professional Challenge will be held on Wednesday, October 5. The top professional hunter riders in the country will also go head-to-head in the $10,000 WCHR Professional Finals on Friday, October 7, following the Ariat National Adult Medal Final.

Each year, the up-and-coming stars of hunter sport are showcased at Capital Challenge in the 3' and 3'3" North American Green Hunter Championship. This year, the popular class will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 5.

The Capital Challenge Horse Show will also feature the North American League (NAL) Finals. The hunter finals will open the week with the $10,000 NAL Children’s Hunter Final to be held on Monday, October 3, and the $10,000 NAL Adult Hunter Final taking place on Tuesday, October 4. Thursday evening’s schedule will include the $10,000 NAL Children’s Jumper Final and the $10,000 Adult Amateur Jumper Final, while Saturday evening, October 8, will feature the $10,000 NAL Low Junior/Amateur Jumper Final.
