Ottawa Summer Show Jumping Tournaments Set to Begin at Ottawa’s Wesley Clover Parks

The Nation’s Capital will welcome show jumping competitors for the Ottawa Summer Tournaments held back-to-back the weeks of July 6 to 10 and July 13 to 17, 2022, at Wesley Clover Parks in Ottawa, ON.

Both weeks of competition have already reached maximum stabling capacity, ensuring action-packed excitement and fierce competition in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings.  The main events take place on Wesley Clover Parks’ grass Grand Prix field, widely considered to be the best in eastern Canada, where Ramin Shafiee (Iran) and Marina Azevedo (Brazil) respectively will handle course design duties.

Ottawa Summer Tournament 1:
Thursday, July 7, at 4 p.m.: $20,000 Open Welcome
Friday, July 8 at 3 p.m.: $10,000 CHDS Pommies Open Hunter Derby
Friday, July 8 (following the Hunter Derby): $1,000 CHDS Junior/Amateur Hunter Derby
Saturday, July 9 at 2 p.m.: $50,000 Steel Craft Grand Prix
Sunday, July 10 at 2 p.m.: $10,000 Brookstreet Hotel Modified Grand Prix

Ottawa Summer Tournament 2:
Thursday, July 14 at 4 p.m.: $20,000 Open Welcome
Friday, July 15 at 3 p.m.: $10,000 CHDS Horseware Open Hunter Derby
Friday, July 15 (following the Hunter Derby): $1,000 CHDS Junior/Amateur Hunter Derby
Saturday, July 16 at 2 p.m.: $50,000 RBC Grand Prix
Sunday, July 17 at 2 p.m.: $10,000 Soltek Modified Grand Prix

Following two years of restricted access due to the Covid-19 pandemic, spectators are welcome to return to Wesley Clover Parks and enjoy the competition.  Tickets must be purchased in advance online at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/ottawa-summer-tournaments-1-2-tickets-370628900017 and will not be sold at the gate.  Cold beverages and snacks will be available in the beer tent overlooking the grass Grand Prix field.  Additional spectator information can be found at https://www.ottawaequestriantournaments.com/spectators.

For those seeking an elevated hospitality experience, Wesley Clover Parks has a new hospitality tent overlooking the Grand Prix field thanks to support from Ottawa Tourism’s Destination Development Fund.  Bookings for tables of six and individual weekly passes, both of which include VIP parking, are available for the Ottawa Summer Tournaments 1 and 2 as well as the CSI5*/CSI2* Major League Show Jumping Ottawa Tournament from August 24 to 28, 2022.  The hospitality tent is open every day throughout the competition and features a daily continental breakfast and snacks, catering by the Brookstreet Hotel during feature classes, and complimentary featured beverages including wine from Ottawa’s KIN Vineyards and refreshing ciders from Ontario-based Pommies Cider Company.  A cash bar is also open daily.  Visit https://www.ottawaequestriantournaments.com/hospitality or email hello@wesleycloverparks.com to learn more.

Competitors at the Ottawa Summer Tournaments will also be vying for the Ottawa Circuit Awards, presented by Ride Every Stride.  With prizes awarded in 29 divisions, competitors collect points at all Gold and Platinum shows hosted at Wesley Clover Parks this season.  The Under 25 MarBill Hill Farm Jumper Bonus and Circuit Award are also back for 2022, featuring $10,000 in bonus money.  For more information, visit https://www.ottawaequestriantournaments.com/ottawa-circuit-awards.
