The management at Old Salem Farm is now accepting nominations for the 2017 Old Salem Farm Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award to be presented at the American Gold Cup CSI 4*-W on Sunday, September 17, at Old Salem Farm in North Salem, NY.

The Old Salem Farm Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award was created by Old Salem Farm trainer Frank Madden as a way to recognize members of the U.S. hunter/jumper community for their selfless contributions to the sport they love.

“I am on the road quite often representing Old Salem Farm at horse shows and clinics around the country, and I meet truly inspiring people,” said Madden. “In my mind, this award is the perfect way to recognize those people for the work that they do.”

In 2016, the Old Salem Farm Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Sunny Stevens of Stevehaven Stables based in Atlanta, GA. Stevens has dedicated her life to training riders of all levels from the short stirrup ranks to grand prix competition for over 40 years.

“Stevens embodies exactly what the Old Salem Farm Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award stands for,” continued Madden. “I look forward to learning more about how the 2017 nominees have worked to make the show jumping community as strong as it can possibly be.”

The ideal nominee for the Old Salem Farm Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award is a member of the hunter/jumper community who has dedicated themselves to the betterment of their sport and/or made significant efforts to serve the equestrian industry in their designated role. Nominations may be submitted in the form of a letter or video outlining the nominee’s achievements and contributions to horse sport. Letter or video submissions should include contact information for the nominee and be sent to Chelsea Dwinell via e-mail at chelsead@oldsalemfarm.net by Tuesday, August 1, at 5 p.m. EST.

The 2017 winner will be notified by Thursday, August 17, and will be invited to the 2017 American Gold Cup to participate in a special presentation of their Old Salem Farm Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award prior to the start of the FEI World Cup™ Jumping New York CSI 4*-W.
