Top South Florida real estate broker Martha Jolicoeur will introduce her popular Leading Lady Rider Award to the Royal Horse Show, running as part of the annual Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, from November 1 through 10, 2019, in downtown Toronto, ON.

The Martha W. Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider Award has become a mainstay at several high-profile U.S. shows, including almost 10 years of honoring accomplished female riders at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, FL. At the Royal Horse Show, Jolicoeur will present the Leading Lady Rider Award to the high-score female rider based on performances in the international show jumping division. International competition at the Royal Horse Show is highlighted by the $210,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Toronto, a coveted qualifying event for the 2020 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final in Las Vegas, NV.

“I am very excited to see this award cross international borders and be presented in Canada,” said Jolicoeur, herself a long-time fan of the Royal Horse Show. “The Royal is such a special occasion for Canadian horse sport as well as international riders from around the globe. I look forward to honoring the top female rider in such a decorated field of athletes.”

Jolicoeur is an accomplished rider in her own right, and enjoyed a career in the saddle that began with many titles on her small junior hunter, Movie Star, including winning the Best Child Rider award at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show and numerous circuit championships at WEF. She continued climbing the ranks to train at the grand prix level with 10-time Canadian Olympian Ian Millar and U.S. Olympic medalist Norman Dello Joio. Named the 1985 American Grand Prix Association (AGA) Rookie of the Year, Jolicoeur went on to make a name for herself by successfully competing at show jumping competitions in England, Holland, and Belgium from 1986 to 1990.

“From the perspective of a competitor, a leading rider title is a sign of success, but more importantly a sign of consistency,” said Jolicoeur, who will present the Leading Lady Rider Award on Saturday evening, November 9. “When I was riding, the leading lady rider award was the one that I always strived to win, which makes being able to present it all the more special.”

Jolicoeur’s experience in the ring segued into a career in equestrian real estate when she earned her license in 1991. Serving another location steeped in equestrian tradition, Jolicoeur started her real estate endeavors in Middleburg, Virginia, before locating to Wellington full-time. Since then, she has watched Wellington’s horse sport community transform and flourish with each passing season and has become the top equestrian realtor in the state of Florida.

Part of the elite Douglas Elliman Real Estate Sports and Entertainment division, Jolicoeur was named the No.1 realtor in the Wellington market as well as No. 1 in Florida overall in 2019. Specializing in both farm and residential properties in Wellington, FL, Jolicoeur has supported horse sport as an integral sponsor for the past decade.
