Let the Show Begin! The Auction “2020 Winter Sale”

The fifth edition of The Auction has kicked off today with an outstanding collection and a LIVE TV Studio commentary to follow the action. Lots will be auctioned online at www.theauction.online through to 9 p.m. CET on December 12, 2020.

The richness, quality, and diversity of the “2020 Winter Sale” collection means that it is aimed at all players of the industry. The 22 performers, selected with the highest standards in mind, are intended for a wide variety of riders with multiple sporting objectives and offer a real guarantee of quality for the buyer, even the most ambitious.

According to Belgian Olympic rider Ludo Philippaerts, who was a member of the selection committee, "I am convinced that we will find seven or eight of the horses in this collection in international Grand Prix events in the coming years.”

In addition, all Lots have outstanding genetics, which means that for the mares and the approved stallion, Casalento PS, a successful career in breeding is possible, thus allowing the investment to be enjoyed for even longer. In addition to flawless pedigrees and proven performances in competition, all of these sport horses have elegant conformation, including the only yearling of this fifth edition, Noémie d'Ecaussinnes.

Buying an embryo at The Auction is a bit like playing the lottery while knowing in advance the winning numbers. These crossings are so emblematic, combining the best of proven genetics, that one can be sure the foal coming into this world will have a great future in sport and/or breeding.

The foals to be born in 2021 have notably outstanding dam lines such as Dominator 2000 Z (Lot 29) whose mother Hallina de Muze, has herself shone in CSI competition and produced the BWP approved stallion Fantomas de Muze by Sandro Boy, an excellent international performer. Above all, his second dam is none other than the great broodmare Cordula de Laubry, the result of a cross between two legends of our sport, Tinka's Boy and Darco. Nominated as best broodmare in the world in 2020 based on the performances of her offspring, she has produced no less than 13 international performers including four at the 1.60m level! All lots in this embryo section are of the same genetic richness promising to be great prospects on the show ring or at stud.

The Auction is also distinguished by the innovative digital content made available to buyers and the public before and during the sale. The Auction presents a TV Studio reporting daily on news and providing analysis and key information on the content and progress of the sale.  On Friday December 11, starting at 8 p.m. CET, The Auction Studio will go LIVE on air featuring interviews with the biggest names of the equestrian industry, live commentary and analysis of the collection, and the evolution of The Auctions.
