KASK Helmets Sponsors Dressage Riders Steffen Peters and Chase Hickok
April 14, 2016 - Wellington, Florida
U.S. dressage riders Steffen Peters and Chase Hickok recently inked sponsorship agreements with KASK USA. With a new line of equestrian helmets, KASK continues to gain popularity on the North American sport horse scene.
Continuing their efforts to reach riders from multiple disciplines, KASK made a positive impression on dressage riders during the 2016 winter season. As a result, KASK is now the official helmet of U.S. Olympic and World Equestrian Games bronze medalist, Steffen Peters, and 26-year-old American dressage rider and North American Young Rider Championships silver and bronze medalist, Chase Hickok.
Peters, 52, based in San Diego, CA, became familiar with the KASK brand as a cycling helmet. Once KASK entered equestrian sports, Peters was quickly interested.
“I first saw the helmets in pictures and thought the profile looked sharp,” said Peters. “I find most [helmets] a little too bulky, but KASK is a sporty and elegant looking helmet with very comfortable carbon fiber protection on the inside.”
The Olympic dressage rider wears a KASK Dogma Light in black, as well as one in navy with American flag personalization.
“Compared to others, KASK protects the back of your head better,” continued Peters. “If I were to design a helmet myself, it would look like a KASK.”
Hickok, originally from Durham, NC, now rides and trains in Wellington, FL, and partnered with KASK at the end of the 2016 Adequan® Global Dressage Festival. With plans to move from Under 25 Grand Prix competition into the Open Grand Prix ranks, Hickok is proud to make the jump with a new partner.
“I saw how KASK planned to set themselves apart from others and thought it was a cool vision,” said Hickok. “I am proud to be partnered with a company that is revolutionizing helmets, but also what sponsorship means – they are truly invested in their riders.”
While the sport of dressage makes the transition from the top hat to helmets in the show ring, Hickok was eager to align herself with a brand that still values classic fashion and user-friendly design. KASK creates all its helmets using innovative construction based on years of producing helmets within the cycling and skiing markets, as well as simplistic sizing details like magnetic buckle and a self-adapting adjusting system.
“From a design standpoint, the style is so far ahead of any other brand on the market, and the magnetic latch is so streamlined,” concluded Hickok.
“The fact that KASK has been so widely accepted across multiple disciplines as a top helmet choice is something in which we take great pride,” said North American Brand Manager, Gianluca Caron. “With riders like Steffen and Chase wearing KASK, we are confident the helmets will continue to experience high demand among dressage riders of all levels.”
