International Show Jumping Returns to the Nation’s Capital

International show jumping returns to the nation’s capital for two weeks of back-to-back competition at Wesley Clover Parks in the heart of Ottawa, ON.  The Ottawa National Horse Show runs July 11 to 15 followed by the CSI3* Ottawa International Horse Show from July 18 to 22.

Highlights of the Ottawa National Horse Show include:

Thursday, July 12 – $20,000 Wellings of Stittsville Open Welcome

Friday, July 13 – $10,000 Pepsi Open CHDS Hunter Derby

Saturday, July 14 –  $50,000 Brookstreet Ottawa National Grand Prix

Sunday, July 15 – $7,500 Lynn Millar Memorial Speed Derby and the $2,500 Royal Lepage Team Realty Equine Canine Relay

The CSI3* Ottawa International Horse Show has the added distinction of being sanctioned by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), allowing riders to earn valuable world ranking points.  Featured competition at the CSI3* Ottawa International Horse Show includes:

Wednesday, July 18 - $8,360 CSI3* Deloitte Welcome Speed

Thursday, July 19 – $35,500 CSI3* RBC Capital Classic

Friday, July 20 - $10,000 MarBill Hill Farm Under 25 Grand Prix

Saturday, July 21 – $132,000 CSI3* Grand Prix and $5,000 Innisfree Open CHDS Hunter Derby

Sunday, July 22 – $15,000 CIBC Wood Gundy National Grand Prix

Horses and riders will compete on Wesley Clover Parks’ expansive grass field with jumping courses set by Canadian Olympic silver medalist Michel Vaillancourt and Alan Wade of Ireland, course designer for the upcoming 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games.

In addition to top show jumping competition, the Ottawa National and CSI3* Ottawa International Horse Shows will feature family-friendly activities for spectators of all ages, including face painting, pony rides, children’s jumps, and more.  Admission and parking are by donation to the Wesley Clover Parks Foundation.

Conveniently located at the Moodie Drive exit off the 417 highway, Wesley Clover Parks showcases international show jumping competition in the heart of Ottawa.  The uniquely urban location makes the Ottawa Equestrian Tournaments one of the very few Canadian show jumping tournaments to be held inside city limits.
