International Show Jumping Competition Underway in Ottawa

The highest level of international show jumping competition has arrived in the nation’s capital as the Major League Show Jumping Ottawa tournament is underway through Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Wesley Clover Parks in Ottawa, ON.
A total of 178 horses were presented and declared fit to compete at the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) Horse Inspection held on Wednesday, August 23. Featuring the highest level of international show jumping competition with a CSI5* rating from the FEI, Major League Show Jumping Ottawa will also feature a CSI2* division offering a combined total of more than $800,000 in prize money.
The starting field for Major League Show Jumping Ottawa features four of the top 10 riders in the world, including two-time U.S. Olympic team gold medalist McLain Ward, who is currently ranked number five in the world. Ireland’s Shane Sweetnam, ranked seventh, will be competing in Ottawa alongside number eight in the world, Kent Farrington of the United States, and fellow Irishman Conor Swail, currently ranked tenth.
Canadian Olympians Tiffany Foster of Langley, BC, and Amy Millar of Perth, ON, will be representing the Canadian flag alongside their 2022 World Championship teammate, Erynn Ballard of Tottenham, ON.

Thursday, August 24 at 3 p.m. - $38,500 CSI2* Mark Motors Group Qualifier
Friday, August 25 at 3 p.m. - $142,500 CSI5* Steel-Craft Door Products Ltd. Welcome
Saturday, August 26 at 10 a.m. - $38,500 CSI2* Whalesbone Group Grand Prix
Saturday, August 26 at 4 p.m. - $270,000 CSI5* MLSJ Team Competition

Sunday, August 27 at 1 p.m. - $225,000 CSI5* RBC Grand Prix
