Hylofit Joins Equine Technology Collaborative

May 13, 2019 - Wellington, FL

The Hylofit training system provides both real-time feedback during your ride and in-depth post-ride insights.

The Equine Technology Collaborative is proud to welcome Hylofit as the newest member of the group that is aimed at working together to solve problems and to enhance the equestrian community through innovative technology-based solutions.

Introduced in 2016, Hylofit is a cutting-edge, zone-training system that provides real-time feedback and post-ride insight into the mental and physical state of both horse and rider. “Hylofit is a conditioning tool that captures heart rate of horse and rider to set fitness goals, track performance, and prevent injury,” explained Hylofit co-founder Laxmi Stebbins Wordham.

Hylofit incorporates heart rate monitors into a special girth attachment for the horse and a chest strap for the rider – both of which are wireless and require no charging. All the data from the monitors is immediately available after pairing to the Hylofit phone app for feedback during the ride and in-depth post-ride data analysis.

Already in use by top riders across disciplines, Hylofit’s inventive and problem-solving technology made the company the ideal fit for the Equine Tech Collab.

“We are all dedicated to trying to improve specific, separate facets of the equestrian industry through technology,” said Nicole Lakin, the founder and CEO of BarnManager and the innovator behind the Equine Tech Collab. “Hylofit recognized the need for improved training monitoring, and now they’re fulfilling that need and allowing for maximized performance and injury prevention.

“I’m personally really excited about what they’re doing, and I’m thrilled to have them as part of the Equine Tech Collab,” continued Lakin. “While our specific areas of focus are different, we all share the same mission of utilizing technology to simplify the lives of horse people, give them peace of mind, and allow them to focus on why we’re all really doing this in the first place: the horses.”

The Equine Tech Collab is currently made up of nine equine technology companies, including the four founding members, BarnManager, Equo, Jumpfax, and Stableguard; and five partners including Etalon Diagnostics, Electronic Vet, Epona Exchange, Event Clinics, and now, Hylofit.

“Hylofit is excited to join the Equine Tech Collab and partner with like-minded innovative companies that are bringing technology to equestrians,” said Wordham. “We hope to learn from each other and find better ways to collaborate and incorporate technology as a regular part of training and caring for your horse.”

The Equine Tech Collab is dedicated to supporting the education of equestrians by helping to equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to facilitate the best practices in horse care and management and to the integration and collaboration across equine technology platforms.
