Horse & Country (H&C), the leading international sports and lifestyle network, released a heartwarming new docuseries, “Riding with the Reddens,” directed and produced by Hollywood producer Royal Malloy, on October 14, 2023, through its streaming service, H&C+. In six episodes, viewers are invited to follow along with cousins Emma Redden, 16, Abigail Bennett, 13, and their family as they chase the kids’ eventing dreams.

The show highlights the importance of their tight-knit family based in Ocala, Florida, as well as the highs and lows of the challenging sport of eventing. While Abigail has already qualified for the prestigious United States Eventing Association (USEA) American Eventing Championships (AEC), presented by Nutrena Feeds, in Lexington, Kentucky, Emma is still trying to earn her spot. The family travels together to various competitions with trainer and four-star rider Madeleine Scott and receives support and advice from numerous top eventing athletes along the way, including Canadian Olympian Kyle Carter, number 11 on the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) Eventing World Athlete Rankings Liz Halliday of the U.S., Mexican five-star rider Daniela Moguel and her husband Zully Castrejon, U.S. Pan American Games team gold medalist Will Faudree, and U.S. Olympian and Pan American team gold medalist Doug Payne.

“We are very excited to add ‘Riding with the Reddens’ to the H&C library of content,” expressed H&C Director of Content Jonathan Rippon. “We know this relatable story will appeal to a wide-range of equestrian enthusiasts and give a unique insight into the drive and commitment needed to be successful in horse sports.”

“We are thrilled to share our experience with H&C’s worldwide audience,” said Summer Redden, Emma’s mother, who plays a significant role in the series. “Our girls have worked so hard, and we know viewers will appreciate the values of family and working hard for what is important to you as much as we do.”

Episodes 1-4 are available to watch now, with the final two episodes releasing before the end of October. The episode summaries are as follows:

  • Episode 1 – Ready Set Jump: The audience is introduced to Emma and Abigail as they get ready for their regional championship. Trainer Madeleine Scott challenges the girls against each other to prepare for their upcoming horse trial.
  • Episode 2 – Champs at Chattahoochee: Emma and Abigail are competing at the regional USEA Championship at Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, where the entire family is onsite to cheer them on.
  • Episode 3 – Moms Take the Reins: After unexpected events, Emma and Abigail compete at a pivotal horse trial without any assistance (except their moms).
  • Episode 4 – Rallying at River Glen: Abigail’s sister Annie joins Emma and Abigail in the high-pressure competition at River Glen in Tennessee. The girls are reminded what is most important, and the entire family rallies to support them.
  • Episode 5 – A Whirlwind at Windridge: The suspense heightens as the girls venture to Windridge Farms in North Carolina for the final event before the AEC.
  • Episode 6 – All in Stride: The atmosphere at the AEC is exciting and stressful, with hundreds of top-level riders and horses from all over the country competing. The girls are hoping that all their hard work and dedication will pay off and help them finally reach their first-year goals.
