Leading international equestrian sports network Horse & Country (H&C) will once again host extensive and exclusive live coverage of the Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials (GER), the last three-day event rated as a five-star competition to be held before the 2024 Olympic Games.

Members of H&C’s streaming service, H&C+, will be able to watch all three phases of competition plus the first horse inspection held over five days from June 12 to 16, 2024. H&C favorite Spencer Sturmey will provide English commentary while Dirk Alexander Lude will set the scene for German viewers. H&C will also provide full coverage of the four-star short division running concurrently, which serves as the German National Eventing Championship.

With cross-country terrain similar to what competitors will face at the Paris Olympics, Luhmühlen provides the ideal final preparation. As one of only seven five-star events in the world, Luhmühlen is a true showcase of top international eventing talent.

Hot off their win in the four-star division of the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event (USA), Will Coleman and Diabolo are on the list to make their five-star debut at Luhmühlen. Emily Hamel riding Corvett and Alyssa Philips partnered with Oskar plan to contest the five-star division in the hopes of pulling off an American win.

Additional top international contenders expected to attend include Tom McEwen (GBR), individual silver at the Tokyo Olympics, who is joined in both the five-star and four-star divisions by Rosalind Canter and Laura Collett, his teammates in Tokyo where Great Britain claimed the gold medal. Two-time Olympic champion Michael Jung will represent Germany while the husband-and-wife team of Tim and Jonelle Price head up the New Zealand contingent.

“Some riders will be using the event as a pre-Olympic run, so we want to give them and their horses a suitable test,” said Luhmühlen course designer Michael Etherington-Smith, who has designed Olympic tracks in the past. “The emphasis is on the riders’ ability to ride well and make good decisions as they go round. There’s plenty to think about on both courses.”

As the icing on the cake for H&C fans, British internet sensation Megan Elphick will provide behind-the-scenes insight with coverage on H&C’s social media channels, including a course preview, rider interviews, and a daily highlights reel.

“I am delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with such a prestigious event,” said H&C Director of Content Jonathan Rippon. “With Bramham, MARS Bromont CCI, Hartpury, Blenheim, and more for H&C+ members to look forward to this year, Horse & Country continues to live up to its position as ‘The Home of Eventing.’”

“We are delighted to continue working with Horse & Country as our streaming partner,” said Luhmühlen Event Organizer Julia Otto. “This partnership is already well established and very familiar to eventing fans around the world. It is of huge benefit to the Longines Luhmühlen Horse Trials that Horse & Country will stream the sport coverage internationally, as this is key to both our sponsorship partners and fans, especially if they aren’t able to attend in person.”

Beyond H&C’s extensive sports coverage, both live and on demand, H&C+ members also receive access to more than 1,800 hours of equestrian programming featuring content from all disciplines, masterclasses and training series, barn tours, rider profiles, and documentaries. With two annual membership options and a pay-per-view offering, H&C+ Freestyle, there are even more ways to access H&C’s vast library of content. Full details on how to join can be found at horseandcountry.tv/select-plan.

Annual membership of H&C+ is only $119.99 as a one-time payment, or there is an option to pay in 12 monthly installments of $13.99. Non-members who wish to watch can choose H&C’s Freestyle option and buy a pass for each event for just $24.99.

H&C offers numerous high-profile opportunities for equestrian brands to advertise around live events including in-stream billboards, in-stream video ads, and pre-roll video ads.
