The Vermont Summer Festival exhibitor parties combine local cuisine and family-focused entertainment for all ages to encourage competitors and their families to experience the Manchester area. Offered each week, the 2018 season’s exhibitor party roster kicks off at The Chantecleer Restaurant, located a short drive from the Vermont Summer Festival showgrounds on Wednesday, July 5. A favorite among the Vermont Summer Festival family, the venue is located in a remodeled dairy barn and is chef-owned, serving elegant and creative cuisine with a European flare and a focus on fresh seafood.
Continuing the locally-themed fun, The Mountain Adventure Park at Bromley Mountain Resort will welcome equestrians to an outdoor barbeque on two evenings during the Vermont Summer Festival, Wednesday, July 11, and Friday, August 3, 2018 (date tentative). Ski season may be over, but Vermont still has an abundance of outdoor activities to offer those seeking some adventure after horse show hours.
At the halfway point of the 25th anniversary Vermont Summer Festival, week three’s exhibitor party will take place at The Copper Grouse at Kimpton Taconic on Wednesday, July 18. Featuring farm-to-table American cuisine, The Copper Grouse is the on-site restaurant of Kimpton Taconic’s boutique hotel, which has returned in 2018 as a steadfast sponsor of the Vermont Summer Festival.
Fellow long-time Vermont Summer Festival lodging partner, Barrows House, is a quintessential Vermont country inn. Charming and comfortable, Barrows House will welcome exhibitors to its expansive lawn in the village of Dorset on Wednesday, July 25.
Concluding a benchmark season at the 2018 Vermont Summer Festival, The Equinox Resort will host the final exhibitor party on Wednesday, August 8. A long-time lodging partner and sponsor of the Vermont Summer Festival, The Equinox Resort is a luxury resort experience featuring a spa, golf course, multiple restaurants, and acres of trails.
“The Manchester area is rich with dining and entertainment options, and we are dedicated to encouraging our competitors to enjoy all that the region has to offer,” said John Ammerman, manager of the Vermont Summer Festival. “We appreciate the level at which the local community supports the horse show. Exhibitors truly enjoy their time at the Vermont Summer Festival and that is due in part to the Manchester community making them feel welcome.”
The 2018 Vermont Summer Festival offers an all-inclusive schedule with the popular “Equitation Tuesdays” and weekly $5,000 3'3" NEHJA Hunter Derbies each Thursday, culminating with a $15,000 offering in week six. For jumper competitors, highlights include the $10,000 Open Welcome Stake, held each Thursday, and the $30,000 Grand Prix, held the first five Saturdays of the six-week circuit, before concluding with a $50,000 Grand Prix on the final weekend.
The Vermont Summer Festival is New England’s largest hunter/jumper competition and the richest sporting event based on purse in the state of Vermont with more than $750,000 in prize money. The event is also a proud member of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame, the Marshall & Sterling League, and the North American League (NAL).
