Exciting Hunter Derby Opportunities at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington Summer III

Entries and stall reservations remain open for the World Equestrian Center – Wilmington (WEC) Summer III horse show set to take place from August 7- August 11, 2024. Summer III will feature USEF Premier/Level 4 Jumpers and nearly $300,000 in total prize money and awards and will host new, exciting opportunities with increased prize money in the hunter ring.
New for 2024, the hunter ring will play host to hunter derbies for horses and riders of all levels.
Summer III featured hunter classes will include:
• $20,000 USHJA National 3′ Non-Pro Hunter Derby
• $20,000 USHJA National 3′ Open Hunter Derby
• $3,500 USHJA Pony Hunter Derby
• $3,500 Non-Pro 2’6 Hunter Derby
• $3,000 WEC 2′ Hunter Derby
WEC – Wilmington is thrilled to offer welcoming experiences for horses and riders, from cross-rails to hunter derbies and grand prix.
These exciting new additions will take place at WEC – Wilmington’s state-of-the-art outdoor facilities.

Young Hunter and Jumper Incentive Program
WEC – Wilmington is offering an affordable and exciting way to bring along young horses at its premier, centrally located facility. All 5-, 6-, and 7-year-olds are eligible to be nominated for the remainder of the 2024 show season.
All nominated jumpers will be eligible for the $45,000 Young Jumper Championship. Jumpers will pay a one-time nomination fee to enter the program. Entry fees and jumper nomination fees will be FREE for every show through November 2024.
All nominated hunters will be eligible for the Young Hunter Championship, where they will be offered back 100% of the nomination fees collected throughout the year as prize money (with a minimum of $2,500 guaranteed). Hunters will pay a one-time nomination fee to enter the program. Entry fees in the Young Hunter Division will be FREE for every show through November 2024.
The Young Hunter and Jumper Incentive Championships are tentatively scheduled to take place during Fall Classic #3 in October 2024.
