Entries and Stall Reservations Now Open for the World Equestrian Center – Wilmington 2024 Summer III Horse Show

Wilmington, Ohio – Entries and stall reservations are now open for the World Equestrian Center – Wilmington (WEC) Summer III horse show set to take place from August 7- August 11, 2024. Exhibitors can look forward to elite hunter/jumper competition along with family-friendly events, onsite dining and lodging.

WEC – Wilmington’s Summer III will feature USEF Premier/Level 4 Jumpers and nearly $300,000 in total prize money and awards, plus exciting new opportunities including increased prize money in the hunter ring.
New for 2024, the hunter ring at Summer III will play host to hunter derbies for horses and riders of all levels. Exhibitors can look forward to a $20,000 USHJA National 3’ Non-Pro Hunter Derby, a $20,000 National 3’ Open Hunter Derby, a $3,000 WEC 2’ Hunter Derby, and a $3,500 Non-Pro 2’6 Hunter Derby. WEC – Wilmington is proud to offer welcoming experiences for horses and riders at all levels, from cross rails to hunter derbies and grand prix.

Summer III Featured Hunter Classes:

  • $20,000 USHJA National 3’ Non-Pro Hunter Derby
  • $20,000 USHJA National 3’ Open Hunter Derby
  • $3,500 USHJA Pony Hunter Derby
  • $3,500 Non-Pro 2’6 Hunter Derby
  • $3,000 WEC 2’ Hunter Derby

Summer III Featured Jumper Classes:

  • $10,000 Futures Prix
  • $10,000 Welcome Stake
  • $30,000 Grand Prix

Points will be cumulative and count toward circuit championship awards that will be awarded at the end of the WEC – Wilmington Fall Show Series and the WEC Medal Finals, which will take place at Midwest Indoors II.

Young Hunter and Jumper Incentive Program

WEC – Wilmington is offering an affordable and exciting way to bring along young horses at its premier, climate-controlled, centrally located facility. All 5-, 6-, and 7-year-olds are eligible to be nominated.

All nominated jumpers will be eligible for the $45,000 Young Jumper Championship. Jumpers will pay a one-time nomination fee to enter the program. Entry fees and jumper nomination fees will be FREE for every show through November 2024.

All nominated hunters will be eligible for the Young Hunter Championship, where they will be offered back 100% of the nomination fees collected throughout the year as prize money (with a minimum of $2,500 guaranteed). Hunters will pay a one-time nomination fee to enter the program. Entry fees in the Young Hunter Division will be FREE for every show through November 2024.

The Young Hunter and Jumper Incentive Championships are tentatively scheduled to take place during Fall Classic #3 in October 2024.

Reserve Your Onsite Lodging at World Equestrian Center – Wilmington

Guests are advised to make lodging reservations at their earliest convenience to ensure they secure accommodations close to the showgrounds. Reservations can be made at WEC.net or by calling 937-382-0985 ext. 3.

World Equestrian Center – Wilmington has a myriad of onsite lodging options for guests:

  • The Wilbur Estate – The Wilbur Estate is a stunning plantation-style mansion with five elegant luxury suites. The Wilbur Estate is centrally located on the showgrounds, just steps from arenas, stabling and the Paddock Club. Free WiFi and VIP parking are included in your stay at Wilbur Estate.
  • Cabins – Each cabin sleeps up to six guests and is within walking distance from arenas and barns.  Two of the cabins are handicap accessible. Free WiFi is included.
  • Home Away From Home Park – Directly across the street from the horse show entrance, our 130 Home Away From Home units have two or three bedrooms with a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining room area. Free WiFi is included.
  • Camping Sites – World Equestrian Center – Wilmington has many camping sites equipped with electric, water and sewer for $225 per week (or any portion thereof). You must reserve these on your entry form or stall reservation form.  Please check in at the horse show office for a pass prior to parking your RV.
