Dressage Headlines World Equestrian Center – Ocala This Year and Into 2024

Dressage will headline at World Equestrian Center – Ocala (WEC) this year and into 2024 with world-class competition, breed exhibitions, expanded facility options, and clinic learning opportunities. As WEC expands its commitment to dressage, riders and spectators alike will find a wide variety of highlights on the calendar.
Pirouette Through 2023
Dressage returns to WEC – Ocala on August 24-27 with US Equestrian (USEF)/United States Dressage Federation (USDF) competition, and national-level riders come back October 21-22. The international competition calendar, approved by the Fédération Equestre International (FEI), continues with CDI3* shows on September 14-17 and November 16-19 as well as a World Cup-qualifying event on December 7-10. All CDI shows run concurrently with USEF/USDF national competition.

A Change of Leads – Special Dressage Events
The Iberian Horse Spectacular is a weekend of special competition at WEC – Ocala on October 20-22, 2023. Iberian breeds are invited to compete at all FEI levels from Young Horse through Grand Prix for special prizes. Highlighting the weekend is a one-night-only event on Friday, October 20, celebrating the majestic horses of Spain and Portugal in an exciting equestrian presentation. Brought to you by Hampton Green Farm and the Baroque Equestrian Institute, the IBERICON reception and exhibition will include PRE, Andalusian and Lusitano horses showing their signature movements in traditional dressage as well as costumes of the region.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for the IBERICON reception, immediately followed by the Iberian Horse Spectacular, which begins at 8 p.m. in Arena 1. The event is free and open to the public and free parking is available, while VIP seating is available for ad sponsors. While WEC – Ocala welcomed U.S. Dressage Olympic team silver medalist Sabine Schut-Kery for a clinic in April, another of the world’s best dressage riders – an Olympic champion – will visit this fall for a clinic. WEC will announce the name of this superstar clinician and additional clinic details soon!
Make Plans To Piaffe Into 2024
Dressage will be even bigger and better at WEC – Ocala in 2024. While 2023 has a schedule of 10 shows, five of which are FEI-rated, 2024 goes a step further with 14 shows on the competition calendar. The schedule – which is still pending USEF and FEI approval – includes seven shows that have only USEF/USDF competition.
The six FEI-rated shows, which have concurrent national shows, include a CDI3* on February 14-18 and a CDI3* and CPEDI for Para Dressage riders on March 27-31. WEC – Ocala will host its first-ever five-star rated dressage event on April 10-14, and a CDI3* is on May 22-26. The Great American Insurance Group/United States Dressage Federation Region 3 Dressage Championships will be held for the first time at WEC – Ocala on September 19-22, 2024, and a World Cup qualifier is planned for November 14-17. A final CDI in December rounds out the exciting 2024 schedule.

To ensure that dressage competitors and their equine athletes are afforded the best schooling and competition facilities in the industry, WEC has made a commitment to complete new dressage facilities in Ocala, featuring the new Arena 6 for dressage competition as well as seven additional outdoor arenas for 2024. The indoor arena will offer another spacious, climate-controlled environment with ideal footing for dressage athletes, along with grandstand seating for spectators and VIP viewing rooms, all located close to dedicated dressage stabling.
