Dorothy Douglas and MTM Pablo Risk It To Win It in $100,000 Tipperary Equestrian Grand Prix

In the first Saturday night event of the 2024 Winter Spectacular Show Series at World Equestrian Center – Ocala (WEC) on January 6, 2024, Dorothy Douglas (USA) was victorious with MTM Pablo in the $100,000 Tipperary Equestrian Grand Prix in front of a packed audience.
Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) Level 4 Course Designer Steve Stephens (USA) was the mastermind behind the challenging track for the star-studded international field of riders. Seven combinations managed a fault-free first-round effort to advance to the jump-off. Third to contest the short course, Douglas laid it all on the line, stopping the clock in an unbeatable 42.185 seconds.
“I know I have a fast horse, and I trust him more than anything,” said Douglas of the 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Perigueux x Contendro I) owned by Davenport Farms that she has ridden since it was seven years old. “I wanted to be smart in some places, but also take the risks in order to win it. It’s such a special night. The course was unbelievable, and the crowd was amazing. I also have a bunch of people here supporting me tonight, which makes it all that much more amazing.”
Barnmate Tracy Fenney (USA) was hot on Douglas’s heels, crossing the timers in 42.848 seconds for second place aboard MTM Apple, a 13-year-old Danish Warmblood mare (Favorit Ask x Willemoes) owned by MTM Farm. Aaron Vale (USA) and Constantin De Hus, a 12-year-old Selle Français gelding (Ugobak des Baleines x Creve Coeur) owned by Sigma Stables LLC, produced the only other double-clear performance in 45.354 seconds to complete the top three.
