Chacco Prime, owned and ridden by Alexanne Thibault (CAN) in the Hollow Creek Farm Under 25 Grand Prix Series, claimed the Equis Boutique Best Presented Under 25 Horse Award during the 12th and final week of competition at the 2017 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) held from January 11 to April 2 in Wellington, FL.

Equis Boutique, a luxury tack and apparel shopping experience, sponsors the Best Presented Horse Award at each International Equestrian Federation (FEI) and Under 25 Horse Inspection held throughout the 12-week WEF, as well as at other FEI-sanctioned events throughout the United States. The Hollow Creek Farm Under 25 Grand Prix Series concludes on Sunday, April 2, with the $50,000 Hollow Creek Farm Under 25 Grand Prix Finale.

The FEI Horse Inspection for CSI-U25 competition during WEF 12 was held Friday, March 31, at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) in Wellington, FL. The FEI Ground Jury, led by President Peter Doubleday (USA), evaluated the appearance and condition of horses jogging for Under 25 competition and selected Chacco Prime as the Equis Boutique Best Presented Under 25 Horse Award winner.

The care of Thibault’s string of horses is a family affair with her father, Frederick Thibault, assisting as her groom.  He prepared Chacco Prime, a nine-year-old bay Hanoverian gelding (Chacco Blue x Le Primeur), for the WEF 12 horse inspection and Under 25 competition.

“It is fun to work alongside my daughter,” said Frederick Thibault. “It has been a long cooperation. We have been doing this together since she started riding 14 years ago. It is nice that people notice and acknowledge my work.”

Of working alongside her father, 19-year-old Alexanne Thibault said, “It is fun to work with him! With some grooms, you don’t have a relationship outside of riding. With my dad, he helps me through everything. He is there with me when we wake up at 5 a.m., we bring the horses to the show together, groom them together, and do everything together. There is nothing that I would let him do by himself; I will always be there to take care of my horses with him. It is nice to see that he loves it as much as I do.

“This award is not something you win every day, and it is rewarding to know that what you are doing is well appreciated,” continued Alexanne Thibault, who trains with Francis Berger of South Shore Farm in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC. “I would like to thank Equis Boutique because this award is really appreciated. These little things show that our work is rewarded and that means a lot.”

In recognition of receiving the Equis Best Presented Under 25 Horse Award, Frederick Thibault was presented with a commemorative Best Presented Horse vest, and Alexanne Thibault received a $100 gift certificate to Equis Boutique.
