Equis Boutique honored Cara Anthony (USA) and Ayma de la Demi Lune with the “Best Presented Horse” Award during Week 11 of the 2016 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, FL. Throughout the 12-week WEF running through April 3, Equis Boutique is sponsoring the “Best Presented Horse” Award at each International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Horse Inspection.

At the FEI Horse Inspection for WEF Week 11, designated as a CSI4* and sponsored by Engel & Völkers, Ayma de la Demi Lune was one of 151 horses presented.  Presented by Anthony, the ten-year-old grey Belgian Sport Horse mare (Cardento x Darco) caught the attention of the FEI ground jury, led by Neil O'Connor of Southampton, NY.

“I think it's fantastic that Equis offers this award,” said Anthony.  “I always jog my horse and normally braid.  This week we went all out.

“It's the responsibility of the rider to jog their horse because they are showing the horse, and I think it's amazing that Equis acknowledges that,” continued Anthony.

Ayma de la Demi Lune, owned by Potcreek Partners, LLC, jumped in 1.45m competition with Anthony during Week 11. Anthony, who is the trainer at Potcreek Meadow Farm in Redmond, WA, added the mare to her string at the end of the last season’s WEF. At the time, Ayma de la Demi Lune was competing in the 1.30m ranks, but Anthony feels the horse has what it takes to be successful at the higher levels.

“She had some foals so she’s a little green, but she's a horse for the future and I'm very lucky,” said Anthony. “I'm trying to qualify her for the Nations' Cup at Thunderbird in June.”

While Anthony jogged Ayma de la Demi Lune to their “Best Presented Horse” Award, she added that the preparation was a team effort, recognizing groom Jorge Jimenez and assistant Mario Gamboa.

“They are an integral part of the team that makes sure the horse is presented well and sound,” she said. “It's only because of them that we have good results.”

In recognition of the “Best Presented Horse” Award, Anthony and Ayma de la Demi Lune were presented with a commemorative plaque by Elena Couttenye of Equis Boutique. Anthony was also awarded a custom halter and lead rope from from Equis Boutique partner brand, Dy'on.

Equis Boutique will honor a final horse and rider with the “Best Presented Horse” Award during Week 12 of the 2016 Winter Equestrian Festival, which concludes on April 3. At the weekly FEI Horse Inspection, the ground jury will evaluate overall turn-out of horse and rider to determine the award winner.
