Capital Challenge Horse Show (CCHS) management is pleased to announce that the North American League (NAL) National Finals will be held during this year’s event, which runs October 1-10, and is traditionally held at the Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD.

The NAL East Coast Finals will feature year-end championship competitions in each of the NAL’s five divisions – Adult Jumper Presented by SmartPak, Children’s Jumper Presented by EquiFit, Low Junior/Amateur Jumper Presented by HorseFlight, Children’s Hunter presented by Copper Fox LLC, and Adult Hunter presented by Monkey Business LLC.

"We are excited to host the NAL Finals for the second year in a row at Capital Challenge Horse Show," said show manager Oliver Kennedy. "The addition of the NAL gives us National Finals for our jumper clients to complement the National Finals we have for hunters and equitation. We look forward to having a wonderful event once again."

Annette Longenecker of Ryegate Show Services, which produces the NAL, said, “Last year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we moved the National Finals to the Capital Challenge for the first time and the move was very well received by our participants. The Capital Challenge did a great job hosting the Finals, and we feel that keeping the Finals there is in the best interest of those who compete in the NAL.”

The 10-day Capital Challenge Horse Show also hosts equitation finals such as the EMO Insurance Agency/United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) 3'3" Jumping Seat Medal Final – East, the Palm Beach International Academy (PBIA) North American Junior Equitation Championships, the North American Adult Amateur Equitation Championships, the Ariat National Adult Medal Finals, and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) National Children’s Medal Finals.

The nation’s best hunter horses and riders compete in the World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Hunter Challenges at CCHS. Throughout the week, the show will offer WCHR Hunter Challenge classes for amateurs, adults, juniors, children, ponies, professionals, and developing professionals, which includes the WCHR Professional Challenge and the WCHR Professional Finals.

The NAL season runs from September 1 to August 31. NAL qualifying classes are open to all competitors, but only current members are awarded points. Joining the NAL allows riders to accumulate the points necessary to qualify for both the West Coast and the National Finals. Annual memberships are only $40 per rider.
