Capital Challenge Gears Up for 2024 Show With Totally New Website

The much-loved Capital Challenge Horse Show returns to Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD, for its 31st edition this fall. Maryland’s preeminent event, which draws top talent from coast to coast, runs from September 26-October 6, 2024.

Starting now, competitors, spectators, and fans can enjoy the show’s new website, which is more user-friendly, mobile optimized, and designed to provide all the information about this popular event at the touch of a button. The website is fresh, dynamic, and comprehensive, and features an expanded navigation menu, making it easier to find exactly what you need.

The site will also provide live streaming of every single class, presented by C. Jarvis Insurance Agency, so make sure you don’t miss a minute of the best horses and riders in the country competing for coveted titles. Since it was launched in 1994, Capital Challenge has firmly established itself as a marquee destination horse show for competitors throughout North America. The show is proud of its reputation as an exhibitor-friendly event, providing a comfortable, safe, and competitive atmosphere, and honoring all ribbon winners in extensive prize-giving ceremonies. The 11-day show has become a magnet for many of the country’s best horses and riders to vie for a wide array of titles and prizes.

“We are so proud of how the Capital Challenge Horse Show has flourished over the decades, and we love to see competitors returning year after year,” said Capital Challenge Horse Show co-founder and show manager Oliver Kennedy. “Since the event has grown so much, the new website better reflects all parts of the show. The 2024 edition of Capital Challenge Horse Show will begin with newly-named CCHS Equitation Showcase, presented by BIGEQ.COM, featuring four days of elite competition. Highlight classes will include the EMO Insurance Agency/United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal Final – East Coast, the North American Adult Amateur Equitation Championships, the Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) National Children’s Medal Finals, and the Palm Beach International Academy North American Junior Equitation Championships.

The 2024 Capital Challenge schedule moves on to include hunter and jumper competition including World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Hunter Challenges for amateurs, juniors, children, ponies, developing professionals, and the coveted WCHR Professional Challenge. The fan-favorite WCHR Professional Finals also returns, where the top six hunter riders in the country compete head-to-head for 2024 honors. Amateur riders contest the Ariat National Adult Medal Finals with their equitation mounts, while the best future horses of the sport at the 3’ and 3’3” heights will go up against each other in the Kask/Vogel Green Hunter North American Championship.

The 2024 Capital Challenge Horse Show will also host the North American League (NAL) Finals. Six NAL divisions will be showcased: the 1.10/1.15m Amateur Jumper, 1.10/1.15m Junior Jumper, 1.20/1.25m Junior/Amateur Jumper, 1.30/1.35m Junior/Amateur Jumper, Children’s Hunter, and Adult Hunter.
