Olympian Sharn Wordley of New Zealand captured the top two spots in the $75,000 Stella Artois Grand Prix, brought to you by Tri-Eagle Sales, on Saturday, July 24, during the World Equestrian Center – Ocala Summer VII show. Wordley and his own Gatsby, a 17-year-old Irish Sport Horse stallion by Simba, were the fastest of four double clears and eight in the jump-off.
Wordley finished second on Casper, his 15-year-old Oldenburg gelding by Contender, a mere four-hundredths of a second off his own winning time. Peter Petschenig (USA) and his own Wannabe CS placed third.
An additional $5,000 was awarded to Diego Bilbao (ESP) and Tinker Bell for jumping the fastest four-fault round of Saturday night’s $75,000 Stella Artois Grand Prix, in 71.200 seconds.
