Saratoga Is the Summer Place To Be! Two Weeks of Shows, USHJA Outreach Festival, and Kristy McCormack Clinic

Saratoga Horse Shows in the summer can’t be missed. August is another exciting month at Saratoga Horse Shows with the Saratoga Summer Special, set for August 8-11, 2024, featuring the USHJA Outreach Festival, and Saratoga Summer, on August 14-18. Entries for both shows close July 26, so don’t wait to enter! In addition to competition, Saratoga Horse Shows will host a clinic with Kristy McCormack on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at White Hollow Farm.

August Prize Lists

There are plenty of activities to enjoy in the Saratoga Springs, NY, area when not at the horse show. Downtown offers great shopping, excellent dining, museums, music venues, and of course, the Saratoga Race Track. If more outside time is needed, schedule a tee time at one of the many top golf courses in the region or make plans to spend time on Saratoga Lake. Enter the shows today, and bring the whole family for two weeks of vacation before the school year begins.

The Saratoga Summer Special is a USEF Channel 2 and Jumper Level 3 show, and Saratoga Summer is a USEF National-rated and Jumper Level 3 show.

Hunter and equitation judges for the Saratoga Summer Special include Patrick Boyle, Ellen Toon, and James Toon, with Gerald Briggs as jumper course designer and Patrick Rodes as hunter course designer. Paddy Downing-Nyegard, Mike Rosser, and Lyman Whitehead will judge hunters at the Saratoga Summer, and Hailey Rogge will serve as hunter course designer. Eric Hasbrouck will design the jumper courses.

Special Clinic Opportunity

In addition to competition, White Hollow Farm, home of Saratoga Horse Shows, is proud to host a hunter/jumper clinic with local professional Kristy McCormack on Tuesday, August 6.

McCormack has been successful in both the hunter and jumper rings, most notably as the winner of the 2016 USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships. She has also trained several riders to national championships, including her sister, Kimmy McCormack, who won the 2008 USEF Medal and ASPCA Maclay Finals.

The clinic will be run in four group sessions limited to 6-8 riders per group. There will be hunter and jumper sessions at the Beginner through Advanced levels. The fee for the clinic is $250 per rider. Those wishing to audit the clinic may do so for $30 per person.
