Amanda Derbyshire of Great Britain claimed her second consecutive Martha Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider Award on Saturday afternoon, March 23, during Week 11 of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, FL.

One week earlier, Derbyshire claimed the Martha Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider title following her win in the $134,000 CSI3* Horseware Ireland Grand Prix on Saturday night, March 16.  The British rider returned for Week 11 and promptly claimed victory in the $72,000 CSI4* Equinimity WEF Challenge Cup Round 11 on Thursday, March 21, riding Luibanta H, an 11-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare (Luidam x Abantos).  In Saturday afternoon’s $209,000 CSI4* Wellington Agricultural Services Grand Prix, held on the grass field, the pair enjoyed an eighth place finish to clinch the Leading Lady Rider title for the second week in a row.

“The last two weeks have been incredible, and the horses have been brilliant,” said Derbyshire, who also won the Martha Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider title on the grass during the 2018 season. “It’s nice to end WEF on a high with our hard work paying off, and I love riding out on the field!”

In recognition of her Leading Lady title, Derbyshire was presented with a bottle of champagne, bouquet of flowers, and a gift certificate for a shopping spree at Hunt, Ltd.

“Winning this award is a brilliant feeling, and it’s nice to have my consistency recognized,” continued Derbyshire. “Overall, it’s really kind of Martha to do this for us every week, and I am excited to do a bit of shopping with my prize.”

Part of the elite Douglas Elliman Real Estate Sports and Entertainment division, Jolicoeur was recently named the No.1 realtor in the Wellington market as well as No. 1 in Florida overall. Specializing in Wellington properties, Jolicoeur has supported WEF as an integral sponsor for the past nine consecutive seasons. Throughout WEF, the Martha Jolicoeur Leading Lady Rider Award, given in memory of fellow realtor and horsewoman Dale Lawler, is presented weekly to the high-score female rider based on performances in the weekly WEF Challenge Cup and grand prix events.

With only a single week remaining in the winter season, the Martha Jolicoeur Overall Leading Lady Rider Award will be presented next week during WEF 12 to the female rider who accumulates the most points throughout the 12-week circuit. So far this season, Erynn Ballard, Laura Chapot, Amanda Derybshire, Margie Engle, Tiffany Foster, Lauren Hough, Eve Jobs, Beezie Madden, Karen Polle, and Jessica Springsteen have earned the weekly honor and have set their sights on claiming the overall title.
