Capital Challenge Horse Show’s Continued Success Made Possible by New and Returning Sponsors

August 31, 2017 - Upper Marlboro, MD

The Capital Challenge Horse Show (pictured from above) is made possible by more than 100 generous sponsors.

On September 29 through October 8, the Capital Challenge Horse Show will return to the Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD, for its 24th year. The longevity and continuous growth of the Capital Challenge Horse Show is made possible by the ongoing support of sponsors who have helped shape the show into a premier destination for competitors from across the country.

Headlining this year’s growing list of dedicated sponsors that bring the horse show to life is presenting sponsor, the World Equestrian Center.

“We became a part of the Capital Challenge Horse Show as the presenting sponsor for the first time in 2016, and we were extremely happy with the caliber of the horse show, so we’re proud to be back again this year,” said World Equestrian Center director Roby Roberts.

Located in Wilmington, Ohio, the World Equestrian Center features more than 200,000 square feet of climate-controlled riding space, making it one of the largest indoor/outdoor equestrian sport venues in the world. The state of the art facility features premium footing, permanent stabling and onsite accommodations as well as more than 30 weeks of AA rated Hunter / Jumper competition.

Dedicated to offering great sport and good fun in a family friendly environment, the World Equestrian Center promises their exhibitors an experience built on three core values: quality, class, and distinction.

In 2018, the World Equestrian Center will debut a brand new location, providing world-class equestrian competition and equestrian-inspired country club living, all adjacent to the Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club in Ocala, Florida.

Joining the World Equestrian Center in great support of the Capital Challenge Horse Show are returning sponsors Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS), Ariat, the Palm Beach International Academy, and Baxter Hill Farm LLC. These longtime sponsors have made possible the THIS National Children’s Medal Finals, the Ariat National Adult Medal Finals, the Palm Beach International Academy North American Junior Equitation Championships, and the $25,000 WCHR Professional Challenge, respectively. Baxter Hill Farm LLC is also graciously hosting a breakfast for adult amateur riders on Thursday, October 5, and a junior breakfast on Friday, October 6, while Palm Beach International Academy will generously provide a junior breakfast on Saturday, October 7.

In addition to the returning businesses, friends, and families who have been the backbone of the Capital Challenge Horse Show for years, horse show management is pleased to also welcome many new sponsors, including Radwanski Enterprises and Struck Apparel.

“We’re excited to be a part of Capital Challenge this year and wish good luck to all of the competitors,” said Debbie Radwanski of Radwanski Enterprises.

Radwanski Enterprises will sponsor the highly popular $25,000 Green Hunter 3’ and 3’3” North American Championship, as well as the $10,000 Adult Jumper Classic, while Struck Apparel will serve as the official apparel sponsor of the 2017 horse show.

“Struck was founded in and is based out of Canada,” said Kevin Maxie, owner of the increasingly popular breeches company. “Now, we’re expanding our market across North America, and Capital Challenge is exactly the type of top-quality horse show we wanted to align ourselves with here in the U.S. Struck Apparel's founding belief is that riding is a sport, and we respect the participants, both equine and human, as true athletes. We feel that the Capital Challenge is an incredible showcase of athletic achievement in riding, and we are very proud to be a part of the CCHS this year."

In total, more than 100 sponsors of all levels have contributed to the Capital Challenge Horse Show this year, enabling it to be one of the most popular and competitive horse shows in the country.

“It’s equally exciting to us to have so many longtime supporters returning each year as it is to see new sponsors getting involved with the horse show,” said Capital Challenge show manager Oliver Kennedy. “We’ve come a long way since we started out 24 years ago, adding classes and growing the horse show each year, and this year will be our biggest year yet. That wouldn’t happen without great sponsorship support, so we’re extremely grateful for that.”

The Capital Challenge Horse Show will open with Equitation Weekend, presented by Bigeq.com, beginning on Friday, September 29. Following the conclusion of Equitation Weekend and beginning on Monday, October 2, Capital Challenge is proud to again host the nation’s best hunter horses and riders for the World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) competition, along with junior and amateur jumpers. The complete prize list and schedule of all of this year’s hunter, jumper, and equitation offerings can be found online here
