Abigail McArdle (USA) and Adamo won the Equis Boutique Best Presented Horse Award during CSI 5* competition at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) Fall V, held October 19 - 23 in Mill Spring, NC. Equis Boutique sponsors the Best Presented Horse Award at the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Horse Inspection during all weeks of FEI-sanctioned competition at TIEC throughout the 2016 season.

McArdle, 22, hails from Wellington, FL, and rides for trainer Adam Prudent out of Plain Bay Sales, which is based in Middleburg, VA. McArdle and Adamo, an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding (Lupicor x Ekstein) owned by Plain Bay Sales, was selected as the Equis Best Presented Horse Award winner by the TIEC ground jury after jogging during the FEI Horse inspection earlier in the week.

“This award is great motivation to have the horses turned out well not only for a five-star, but in every jog,” said McArdle, who presented Adamo as one of 100 horses during CSI 5* competition. “It is a really important part of competing, and we try to always look our best. I have to thank Equis Boutique for the award, but also for the great prizes.”

Groom Kathryn Miller took over the care of McArdle’s mounts during the past six months after several years with Plain Bay Sales. She prepared Adamo for the FEI Horse Inspection during the CSI 5* at TIEC, and McArdle was quick to praise her efforts.

“She is a super groom,” said McArdle. “Her attention to detail is amazing, and the horses are always beautifully turned out for the jog and for their classes.”

Adamo is the former mount of Eugenie Angot of France and joined the Plain Bay Sales string earlier this year. When asked about her plans for the gelding, McArdle said, “He is a super horse with a bright future. We will do the U25 classes at the National [Horse Show] and then head to Wellington to prepare for grand prix competition this winter.”

For the Equis Best Presented Horse Award, McArdle and Adamo were honored with a Kingsland jacket, a Manfredi show shirt, and a set of Kentucky Horsewear boots by Kris LePow of Equis Boutique.

International competition continues at TIEC with the Tryon Fall VI CSI 3*, during which Equis Boutique will present the Best Presented Horse Award for the final time this season.
